12 Cheap Hotels in Pangasinan Worth Your Time and Money

February of this year, I spent my birthday on a 5-day volunteer trip to Pangasinan as a researcher / writer / blogger for a travel startup company.  This project aims to document the tourism potentials of Pangasinan in collaboration with different LGU's of the towns we covered. While it is kind of sad to spend the most important day of my life with a bunch of strangers, it was also the best time for me to get to know one of the nearest provinces in Manila we often take for granted - Pangasinan. I'm off to posting places to visit, never-heard tourist spots, and things to do in Pangasinan so stay tuned.

I don't have photos of these because my time is spent mostly gathering information which is why I was part of the group. For now, let me share to you a list of where to stay in Pangasinan. This includes resorts, hotels, motels, and inns. Please bear in mind that these 12 accommodations are only found in the towns we visited: Malasiqui, Bayambang, Bautista, Sta. Barbara, Alcala, and San Fabian. Some of these aren't even on Tripadvisor or Agoda yet.

1.  Family Centerpoint Resort
Address: Meijia Street, Malasiqui, Pangasinan

Family Centerpoint Resort is an ideal getaway for families with kids. It's a big outdoor and indoor resort in Pangasinan that caters to mostly groups who love karaoke singing. Don't be surprised if there are two or more competing singers to the highest volume who are just a few cartwheels away from each other. Wifi is very limited, you need to be near the reception to get connected.

Activities: Paddle boat, walking ball, trampoline & bump boat
Free: Breakfast & swimming pool use for guests who are staying on private rooms
Amenities: Two swimming pools & three grilled boxes
Entrance fees for swimming pool use:
Adult - Php 100 Senior Citizen - Php 80 Children below 3 feet is free

2. Refresh Resort and Hotel
Address: Zone 5, Brgy. Kisikis, Alcala, Pangasinan

Refresh Resort and Hotel is a newly-built resort that's owned by a woman who just retired from her career. Using her savings she conceptualized this resort as a place to unwind. Being a senior citizen, her goal is to make Refresh Resort the one where she'll spend her "remaining" years with her family.  This is another family-approved resort where most locals in Pangasinan spend there free time cooling off.  I personally love the abundance of colorful flowery plants.

There are two sari-sari store in the area: one located in front and one inside. They own the one inside and not the one outside. Because of this, the management decided to sell groceries inside the resort at the same price in the neighborhood.

FREE: Swimming lessons (usually for kids), just pay the entrance fee
Amenities: Dinosaur slide, Instagrammable artificial arch bridge, and swinging wooden benches
Entrance fees for swimming pool use:
Adult - Php 80 (daytime) & Php 100 (nighttime) Children Php 60:
Contact number: 633-9803 / 0917-722-4504

3. Greenfields Paradise Resort
Address: Brgy. Bacundao East, Malasiqui, Pangasinan

Greenfields Paradise Resort unlike the rest of what I have seen in Pangasinan is surrounded by lush trees and vast fields of green grass. This would also mean extra efforts to get here since the location is not along the road but hey, this is what we city rats long for - serenity and being one with nature.

The best thing about Greenfields in Resort Pangasinan is that they are quite lenient when it comes to checking in and out during low season. For example you came in a little too late - say 3 hours from standard check in time, as long as your room is not occupied by another guest, you can have another 3 hours free starting from the standard check out time.

FREE: Grill box and breakfast for private room guests
Perfect for: Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baptism, seminars & reunions
Amenities: 2 Swimming pools, Instagrammable and artificial bridge
Contact number: 075-573-4168 / 0917-573-4168

4. Ariel  & Fe Resort and Restaurant
Address: 344 National Road, Tambac, Bayambang, Pangasinan

Ariel & Fe Resort and Restaurant is named after the owners who are husband and wife. They specialize in events and catering. They also offer gown rental, flower arrangement, clowns & magicians, video coverage, cakes, invitations and a lot more. I personally love the food in their restaurant. It serves some of the best tasting Pangasinan cuisine. I did not see a swimming pool there though.

FREE: Cake for a group of 150+ guests, use of vent for first 4 hours if you're booking for a specified duration
Contact number: 632-902-5598 / 0932-364-2485

5.  Elgram Paradis Resort
Address: Barangay Mangan-Dampay, Malasiqui, Pangasinan

Elgram Paradis Resort is a large outdoor getaway in Pangasinan. Space is never a problem when Elgram Resort was built. This is great for those who don't mind basking under the sun! They have a small pond where you can see a big araphyma and crocodile fish. These are carnivorous, please be careful.

Amenities: Two swimming pools for adults, two for children, one jacuzzi and one water slide
Entrance fees:
Adults Php 100 Children Php 80

6. Urduja Resort and Spa

Obviously, Urduja Resort and Spa was named after the legendary woman warrior from Pangasinan's folklore. It is not the typical cheap and affordable accommodation in Pangasinan but you get what you stayed for. It has a restobar, spa, beauty salon, spa, and a showroom where one can choose personally every single thing he/she wants for an occasion such as wedding to be held here. Next to construct is coffee shop!

Must try massage: Urduja's Torch Php 600 for 1.5 hours

Cheapest room rate: Php 1000 for 2-4 persons
Most expensive room rate: Php 3000 with sofa and dining set

7. The Spirit House
Address: #148 National Road, San Pedro Illi, Alcala, Pangasinan

Though its name sounds weird, The Spirit House is one of the most private accommodations in Pangasinan that I would personally recommend. This isn't surely not for big groups but for couple or for a smaller group of up to 4 persons only.  I admire the silence and the utmost privacy given that only 2 bungalow houses are for rent. I love their own restaurant that serves really tasty food. NO swimming pool or whatsoever. There are dogs walking freely, be careful. It is my first time to find a place for stay with dogs but the owner said these are friendly.

FREE: gym, billiards & darts. Use of Mac computer for Internet browsing. Wifi is limited.

MY PERSONAL FAVORITES IN TERMS OF OFFERING SOMETHING UNIQUE AND SERVICE THAT YOU WON'T FIND IN A USUAL RESORT IN PANGASINAN

11.  Roheim Farm and Resort
Address: Alava Road, Brgy, Colisao, San Fabian, Pangasinan

Roheim Resort is a resort that has an organic farm where one can bring home dragon fruit, camote crops, watermelon et cetera via pick and pay scheme. They advocate responsible farming like doing vermiculture - using worms as fertilizers to their crops.  They also have a wellness clinic and rejuvenation center that offers alternative medicinal treatment like stem cell replacement. The owner is a family of doctors and physicians. They even have a branch here in Manila located in a five - star establishment. There's a nearby hill that's about 30 minutes of light trekking where guests can go there and see mini-rice terraces owned by the resort. They have gazebos, private rooms, umbrella cottages, dorms, and even hostels!

Entrance fees:
Adult Php 200 (daytime) Php 300 (nighttime)
Contact number: 0998-571-9025

12. MAEKRISANNE GARDEN RESORT
Address: National Highway, Ketegan, Bautista, Pangasinan

This is the only hotel slash resort in Pangasinan that I wouldn't mind to travel for 3-4 hours from Manila just to get here. The place is super Instagrammable - according to my personal standards. The design is a mix of Filipino, Italian, and Western architecture.  I so love everything - the flowery plants and the shiny blue water of the swimming pools. MAEKRISANNE Garden Resort.

I am very particular with the cleanliness of a resort's swimming pool. I'm the one who will plunge myself after seeing a pool of water. MAEKRISANNE Resort in Pangasinan is consistently one of if not the only one in this province having a swimming pool that's certified cleanest crystal blue supported by a local group that is tasked to check the "hygiene" of the water inside.

Must stay: Ancestral house of the owner dismantled piece by piece and assembled inside the resort. It will take you back to the Spanish colonial period!
