Quezon City, Boehringer Ingelheim launch citywide kidney screening program

QCitizens access a range of health services during the “Iwas Dialysis, Ligtas Kidneys: Get CheCKD habang maaga pa!” program, including kidney health screening, risk assessment, patient counseling, and interactive learning activities. By bringing these services directly to the community, the initiative aims to strengthen awareness of chronic kidney disease (CKD), support early detection efforts, and encourage QCitizens to take proactive steps toward better kidney health.

Boehringer Ingelheim launches community-based kidney health screening efforts

City-wide roll out: Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Antipolo City attend a city-wide orientation and training for Iwas Dialysis, Ligtas Kidneys: Get CheCKD Habang Maaga Pa!. Empowering Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) is a central element of the program. Through targeted training, BHWs are given training and tools that empower them to become community kidney health advocates. BHWs are equipped to perform initial health assessments, master effective patient communication, and assist in conducting urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) tests. The program has trained over 200 healthcare providers representing 20 barangays.
