Travel Guide to the Premier League Football Team in England

The 2018/2019 season of the Premier League has already started and fans from around the world will be planning on visiting a game before it finishes in May 2019. The league has some of the biggest teams in world football and is certainly the most exciting to watch and visit.

When to Visit
The Premier League season starts in August and finishes in May meaning you have 8 months left to plan your trip. Visiting early September is completely different than going in winter or in May, all of which offer a great experience. If you have a particular game or team you want to watch then you can plan the trip around that, however game dates can change due to fixture clashes. With this we recommend booking no more than 3 months in advance to be guaranteed the game taking place on that particular day.

What to expect
Even if you are not a fan of football then you will be amazed by the atmosphere generated at an English football stadium. Attending a football is ingrained into culture and being part of it is a special experience. Be sure to get Pie and try Bovril, especially on winter’s evening. Hope for goals and watch the all the fans celebrate. If you are lucky to attend a big game then expect the atmosphere to be even louder.

Visiting England
Depending on which Premier League team you will want to watch will determine where in England to fly. The cheapest flights are nearly always to London and Manchester, with Birmingham also a good option for games in the midlands. London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stanstead are all a short train journey from central London meaning fans can travel to any of these airports. For games in the North such as Manchester United, Liverpool fc, Everton, Manchester City then flying to Manchester International Airport is recommended, however with VirginTrains.co.uk London is only 2 hours on train from Manchester Piccadilly train station.

Which Team to Get Tickets for
The capital city London is home to 6 of the 20 teams meaning there is a game in London every week. The Premier League teams in London are Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham United. Whilst Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have the biggest stadiums, they also have the highest demand for tickets. SafeTicketCompare.com offers a comparison of tickets for Premier League games so you can get competitive prices. We also recommend trying with the official outlet of the teams for the games that are not sold-out.

There are the major iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Millennium Wheel (LondonEye.com), Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace etc. Add this to the culture centre of London including major West End shows and dining in regent street.

Liverpool
The city of Liverpool is unlike many others and the hospitality is only second to Manchester. The city has two Premier League teams, Liverpool and Everton.  Liverpool is famous for being the home of the Beatles and has many attractions dedicated to them. When visiting here we recommend going on the Beatles tour.

Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester The North West city of Manchester is viewed as the second city of England and is also home to two Premier League teams, current Champions Manchester City (city of Manchester Stadium) and the world’s biggest club Manchester United (Old Trafford Stadium). The city is also home to major museums and attractions including the National Football Museum and Museum of Science. Whether you are a city fan or united fan we recommend you visit a tour of the stadiums.
