What began as a simple initiative—repurposing used containers into plant boxes—has grown into thriving Vertical and Rooftop Gardens. To date, more than 400 kilos of produce have been harvested—some supporting the hotel’s kitchen by reducing external sourcing, and much of it donated to partner communities.

In one of the recent harvests, over 40 kilos of lettuce, bok choy, and Thai basil were grown and donated to Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Philippines, supporting their food rescue and feeding programs. Most recently, on April 22, 2026—Earth Day—representatives from SOS received 16 kilos of fresh produce from the hotel’s Rooftop Garden. These were shared with one of our valued partners, Pangarap Foundation, to help nourish their scholars and support their ongoing feeding initiatives. To further mark the occasion, leaders and associates of Savoy Hotel Manila participated in the “Earth Day Mindful Walk,” spending time walking around the vibrant Newport City township.
