Goodest Wet Dog Food Review Philippines: Sulit Ba Talaga vs Other Affordable Wet Food in Manila?

From an official TikTok event of pet creators, I learned about Goodest Wet Dog Food na produced by the company behind Century Tuna canned goods. Since ang daming buzz around it and lagi naka-sale, I decided to finally feed it to my dog.

Unang napansin ko agad is the smell. In fairness, nakakatakam siya from a human nose perspective. Compared sa ibang wet dog food brands na sobrang masangsang, this one is more tolerable. Hindi ako nawe-weirduhan ilagay sa ref pag may natira, and hindi rin ganun kalala yung amoy sa hininga ng dog ko after kumain.

One thing that caught my attention is their claim about having lower sodium compared to other brands. Pero personally, hindi ko siya makita clearly sa label for further proof. Walang specific sodium breakdown sa guaranteed analysis.   Also during that same TikTok event, a representative mentioned that the product is “human grade.” Naturally, hinanap ko siya sa packaging, but wala naman nakalagay. So I’d rather rely on what is officially declared.

However, it is very intesting to know that Goodest is compliant with AAFCO standards. Meaning kumpleto ang nutrients, balanced for dogs, and safe for regular feeding. Even brands like Royal Canin follow the same standard, so this is a good baseline.

Only downside of dog wet food from all brands is that bitin. I gave my dog one pack of 130 grams then I added rice and veggies, pero hindi pa siya mabusog. I ended up giving another pack of the smaller version which is 80 grams. So if you plan to use this daily, mas okay siya as part of a meal, not standalone.

Given how hot the weather is, I actually like using wet dog food for added hydration for my dog. This really works well for dogs na hindi palainom ng tubig, hirap ngumuya or may dental problems, and seniors. Now let’s compare. Versus other affordable wet dog food brands in Manila like Pedigree or SmartHeart, Goodest stands out in terms of smell and texture. Mas tolerable siya and mas “chunky” yung feel. But when it comes to label transparency, medyo kulang pa siya.

But here’s where it really wins: price. Goodest is very affordable and often naka 50 percent off or buy 1 take 1. Compared to premium brands like Royal Canin, ang laki ng difference. So sulit ba? If you’re expecting premium quality, hindi ito yun. But if you’re looking for affordable wet dog food in Manila that is safe, decent, and accessible, Goodest is a practical choice.
