The Challenge of Working Freelance and as a Bootstrapping Entrepreneur

Now back in Manila after spending a weekend in  Baguio. We suffered an uber heavy traffic going back because of some road construction in Benguet, La Union. What the driver did is we took another route via Dagupan which was a few hours longer.  We arrived 2am instead of the 12mn target, I woke up 8am then start working!

Anyway other than this I have no qualms about our trip there. I am happy to bring some ube jams from Good Shepherd (I have been longing to eat this for years!) and tried their musang or civet coffee. It is a coffee made from the undigested / fecal matter of a civet. I am supposed to make a separate blog post of this and what to see in  Baguio but I have been extremely busy! I happened to check my last  blog post, it is dated 15th of February. As a freelance and a bootstrapping entrepreneur who makes a living out of this  site alone, I am crazy about gaining more online traffic. It means more exposure, more sales and more ad clicks. In short more money for me. Ok let me rephrase, "more purchasing power" since the word has so many negative connotations.

When a fellow blogger announced he is looking more bloggers to cover Tourism Malaysia's efforts to invite Filipinos to come visit their country for vacation, It only took a split second to say I am joining. Because last July of 2013 I went to Singapore then dropped by to Malaysia. I have seen this country myself so I can vouch based on my own experiences its great potential in the Tourism industry.  

Malaysia has a tropical climate comparable to ours and just few hours away via plane from Manila. We also don't need visas just to go there for less than a month so I don't see too much hassle for our fellow countrymen to this see this place. 

Of Unplanned Trips and Birthday Getaways

In just a over a week is my birthday. Last year I spent the most important day of my life in El Nido, Palawan.  I almost don't want to go back. It was a paradise for me, promise!  I also did a side trip to Puerto Princesa to see the world - famous and UNESCO protected Palawan Underground River. 

It was actually a half - vacation and half - work mode as on top of my list is to find tour guides and travel operators whom I can tie up with for Coron, El Nido and Puerto Princesa Tour Packages. I was also working full time then and only use my spare time for my online travel shop .

Presenting Our Pilot Binondo Food Tour

As part of our efforts to shake the market of Manila City tours and see if there is a place for us, we decided to have our first ever Binondo Food Tour during the celebration of the Chinese New Year on Jan. 31st, 2014. We hope this special day will give us good luck to organize more soon!  

Established around 15th century, , Binondo is said to be the oldest "Chinatown" (outside China) in the world in terms of historical value.  Though the facade and infrastructures do not really say so (not properly preserved), I agree with a known tour guide in Binondo as well that rather say this line to entice people to come here, why not say this? "It is a haven of countless restaurants offering authentic Chinese food. The budget is not a problem because just walking in the streets you will find a place where you can eat according to your budget!  After all, this is the kind of tour you won't sweat to market because this is all about eating!
