The Pokémon Company has officially released a new video for Pokémon Pokopia, an upcoming title for the Nintendo Switch 2 co-developed by The Pokémon Company, Game Freak Inc., and Koei Tecmo Games Co., Ltd. The extended trailer—now available on the official Pokémon YouTube channel—offers a deeper look into Pokopia’s world. You can watch it HERE: Pokémon Pokopia | Extended Trailer.
In this game, players discover a once-thriving town where humans and Pokémon used to live together. Now, however, the trees and grass have withered, the residents have disappeared, and only a strange-looking Tangrowth remains. After awakening from a long sleep, a Ditto transforms into a human and meets Tangrowth. Moved by the state of the town, Ditto begins rebuilding it from the ground up—crafting items, learning moves from other Pokémon, and growing plants to restore life to the land. Trainers can take things slowly, working alongside various Pokémon to turn the empty town into a flourishing utopia, one small step at a time.
A new life begins in this peaceful but desolate place, where players settle into town life by exploring nature and enjoying the slow passage of time. Trainers can create habitats to attract Pokémon, learn moves from them, and craft furniture and items to make the environment more comfortable. The Pokémon in town aren’t just for playing or adventuring—they also help build houses and join Trainers in many shared experiences.
As the town develops, Pokémon may approach players with requests that help improve the community. Some will even bring more serious, large-scale problems that Trainers must solve. By completing these tasks, players will see their utopia gradually flourish. Once comfortable with town life, Trainers can personalize their appearance with new hairstyles and outfits, visit friends’ towns, and take photos together—enjoying Pokopia in a way that reflects their unique style.
The game also introduces several mysterious and slightly peculiar-looking Pokémon. Among them is Professor Tangrowth, a Tangrowth with a partially white body and human-like tools, who becomes Ditto’s mentor. There’s Peakychu, a pale Pikachu with drooping ears and an unusual fur color; Mosslax, a Snorlax covered in moss with a flower-like growth on its head, hinting at a very long slumber; and Smearguru, a Smeargle splattered with vibrant colors whose tail-painting resembles that of a real artist.
