As a fur-parent whose dream is to bring my dog in a flight, this is super good news to me.
FurPAL is the newest program of Philippine Airlines that finally allows small dogs to fly inside the cabin (not cargo ha!). Before, unless service dog, bawal talaga. Now, at least may baby steps na towards more pet-friendly flying sa Pinas.
Basic Rules You MUST Know
1. Small dogs only — and must stay inside the carrier the entire flight
2. SUPER strict sila sa size ng carrier
As in pwede kang ma-offload (yes, both you AND your dog) kapag hindi tugma ang carrier mo sa exact specs:
Dapat soft-sided, leak-proof, may solid base, at kasya under the seat in front of you.
3. Good news: Snub-nosed dogs are now allowed
Bakit kailangan ilagay ang pet carrier “under the seat in front of you”?
Ito yung requirement na maraming nagtataka, so here’s the real reason behind it — in simple, chill English:
1. International aviation rule — safety first
2. Para hindi maging projectile during turbulence
4. Best airflow + temperature for your dog
5. Mas kaunting exposure sa ibang passengers
This prevents allergies, complaints, or unwanted interactions.
