Caramoan in 2 Days: A Real Travel Story from Sorsogon (Island Hopping, Tour Packages, and What It Actually Feels Like)

caramoan tour package 2026

The author of this blog has been to Caramoan in 2015 with her sister Michelle. You may click HERE to read it.  Fast forward to last year, her other sister  Juliet went there with her close friends. See below what went down to their short but really fun trip to the island of Caramoan in Bicol.

At first, it looked like a typical Caramoan itinerary 2D1N—the kind you usually see bundled into a Caramoan tour package online. But once the trip began, it felt far from structured. It was relaxed, spontaneous, and honestly, more memorable because of that.

After arriving, checking in, and having a quick, satisfying lunch, the group headed straight into the highlight of any Caramoan travel guide—island hopping. Most Caramoan island hopping packages include several stops in one day, and it quickly became clear why.

The first stop, Matukad Island, immediately stood out. The limestone cliffs weren’t just something you admire from afar. Up close, they felt massive and textured, almost sculpted by time. It’s the kind of place where you pause before even taking a photo.

Then came Lahus Island, which had a completely different feel. No trees, no distractions—just a stretch of white sand with water on both sides. It felt open, bright, and quiet in a way that makes you lose track of time.

At Cagbalinad Island, everything slowed down. The shoreline was calm, less dramatic, but perfect for just sitting, talking, and letting the moment pass without thinking about what’s next.

Busdak Island offered more space to move around. The beach felt wider, making it ideal for swimming and just enjoying the water without feeling crowded. One of the quieter stops, Minalahos Island, had calm, inviting waters. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying in the sea longer than planned, not because there’s something to do, but because it just feels good to be there.

At Honongan Cove, the balance between scenery and space felt just right. A long stretch of sand, clear water, and views that didn’t feel overwhelming despite its popularity. The last stop, Gota Beach, felt a bit more developed but still peaceful. Surrounded by coconut trees and calm waters, it was the perfect place to slow down after a full day of moving from island to island.

CARAMOAN TOUR PACKAGE 2026

Somewhere in between all these stops, the trip stopped feeling like an itinerary. It became about the small things. Random group selfies that didn’t need to be perfect. Floating in the water with nothing on the schedule. Sitting quietly while looking at cliffs that didn’t need any explanation.

And then there were the in-between moments that most travel guides don’t talk about. Walking past local souvenir shops with colorful displays. Picking up simple items without overthinking. Sitting down to eat familiar Filipino meals—rice, vegetables, seafood, and fried dishes that somehow taste better after hours under the sun.

There was even that unexpected experience of holding freshly caught seafood, something you don’t usually get unless you’re somewhere this close to the ocean. As the day ended, the atmosphere shifted. The bright blues of the sea turned into warm lights and a slower, more relaxed evening. A small local spot with string lights became the place to unwind. No loud crowds, no pressure—just conversations, laughter, and the kind of calm that’s hard to find in the city.

ST MICHAEL PARISH CHURCH CARAMOAN BICOL

The next morning started quietly. After breakfast, they visited the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. The red brick structure stood out right away, offering a different side of Caramoan beyond its beaches. Before heading back, they made a quick stop at the I Love Caramoan Marker. A simple photo, a few laughs, and just like that, the trip was coming to an end.

For those planning a similar trip, going for a Caramoan tour package can make things easier, especially for a short stay. Most packages already include island hopping, boat transfers, and coordination with local guides. But if you prefer flexibility, doing it DIY is also possible—you just need a bit more effort when it comes to arranging boats and timing.

Either way, the experience stays the same. Because in the end, Caramoan isn’t just about the places you visit. It’s the feeling of not being rushed. The mix of adventure and stillness. The simple, unplanned moments that stay with you longer than expected. For a 2-day trip, it leaves more than just photos.
